Medical Aesthetics 2019

The desire to look perfectly filtered has never been stronger and so has the number of Medical Aesthetic procedures, with no indication of slowing down. Advancements in technology and research are increasing with consumer demand.

Here, are the trends and procedures that will be the most popular in 2019 to zap, inject, and restore our bodies in 2019.

Lunch Time Tweaks

It's really the era of minimally invasive medical aesthetic procedures. Injectables, lasers, and skin resurfacing can be quick, lunchtime procedures, often with immediately visible effects, and minimal downtime, qualities which contribute to their inclusivity as well as popularity. The quick bounce back into a normal routine post-procedure has caught the attention of those who are reluctant to admit getting a procedure.

Preventative Treatments

If 2018 was the year plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancements stepped out of the shadows and into mainstream conversation, 2019 will be the year of, small corrections to the face and body, while remaining true to your natural facial character. According to experts, a larger number of patients will be undergoing treatments earlier, at a younger age as a means of preventative treatment.

Lip Lifts

The lip lift is a permanent procedure - typically done under local anaesthesia in less than an hour. This operation shortens the space between the bottom of the nose and the top of the lips (aka the philtrum) by carving out a bullhorn-shaped strip of skin just below the nostrils. It helps to raise the lips’ edges and creates a more natural, plumper appearance as well as adding definition to the Cupid’s bow.

Chin Fill

Now there is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for reducing double-chins and contouring the jawline. Belkyra is a product that contains deoxycholic acid — a naturally occurring substance in the body that absorbs fat cells. These injectable fat busters can combat chin fullness more rapidly and with less discomfort than previous procedures like neck liposuction.

Tweak "Men" t.

A lot of the procedures that are increasing in demand. More and more men are seeking to enhance their features to look more masculine. Men have historically been interested in the lower triangleof the face, meaning the nose, chin, neck, and jawline. Injectables can create a strong masculine profile.

Other well sort after procedures for Men include Liposuction/Coolsculpting, Microneedling, skin peels and Botox.

Less is More Tweaks

Overfilled lips, and exaggerated cosmetic procedures period, are all trends on their way out. Successful Medical Aesthetic procedures should no longer be obvious. Patients are increasingly wanting to maintain their over-all face structure, inherited family traits, and just generally wanting to look like themselves, but with a few refined tweaks.

It's not like 10 years ago when people were coming in with the cover of a magazine wanting to look more like Angela Jolie. Those seeking treatments are those who want to look more like their own filtered version of themselves.

Cosmetic Surgery Trend

Consumers are in favour of a more "natural" look"  Fat-grafting will continue to be popular into next year, but more for contouring and fine-tuning, rather than just plumping.

Other Treatments are on the Rise

Small, hyper-specific procedures to resolve minor but irksome facial and body quirks are increasing in popularity including the unorthodox use of filler in locations other than the traditional cheekbone, or the bridge of the nose during a non-invasive rhinoplasty.

Another procedure I've been seeing a lot recently addresses the space between your nose and your lip (little Cupid's bow). It elongates over time and can age the lip. A small incision is made right under the nose to lift the lip.

Body Contouring Is expected to Soar

EmSculpt is the much anticipated and talked about as the first and only non-invasive muscle and body fat-shaping procedure. The handheld tool uses magnetic fields to activate muscle contractions in the body to break down fat and build muscle.

Body fat responds to the metabolic reaction of the contractions by breaking down, essentially tricking your body into thinking it's working out.
